waynepunkdude
I've been offered a Spector for £150 it says special on the head stock making me assume its a cheepy, any ideas?
Cosmo Valdemar
Front or back of the headstock? As far as I can remember, I've only seen the logo on a Spector headstock - as well as the truss rod cover. The model tends to be on the back, so that should tell you exactly what it is.

waynepunkdude
I bought it, any idea what it is?
RhysP
I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's a Q4 model.
waynepunkdude
Would that be good?
RhysP
I don't have the faintest idea to be perfectly honest with you.
TRBboy
I'm no Spector expert, but it looks like one of the far eastern ones, a bit like the current performer series.
It's definitely one of the far eastern ones, but I'm unsure as to which model as they renamed them all. Currently they're the "Legend" & " Performer" series but I think Waynes bass is an earlier incarnation. I would think it's got to have been a good buy for £150.00 though; I've not heard a bad word said about these import models. silentbob
Have a look here, should be able to work out which model it is. http://www.spectorbass.com/about/model_years.html
Cosmo Valdemar
Looks like an NS2000 Q4. I have the earlier version with the through neck which originally listed for around £800. You have an excellent bass there Wayne! Edited May 20, 2012 by Cosmo Valdemar
Cosmo Valdemar
Silly question, but are you sure it says 'special' on the truss rod cover? If it's a Q4 it should only say Spector - if you squint it could read special... Not that this matters at all, I'm just sure I've never seen a Spector with anything other than the company name on the truss rod cover.
