Vintage Valve sale Philips EL84, modern EH ECC82 (12AU7)

My decision to sell my LB30 means I can move on almost all of the valves I bought to try out in it.

[size=4][b]12AY7 (45% gain)[/b]
2 x Electro Harmonix 12AY7 = £13.50 (not tested by me, but new)[/size]

[size=4][b]EL84[/b]
4 x PHILIPS NOS from 1967 = £16.00[/size] (these have not been tested by me)

All valves, except where noted, have been tested and work. Prices are [i]per valve[/i] and do not include postage.

I believe they are: they certainly came from the same (reputable) seller.

Might be thinking of power valves for matching. Preamp valves aren't run in such a way that it is an issue. The only thing is that in each of those valves there are two sections, and some consider it desirable to check the matching between the two within a valve, but with Mullards the whole point of them is they are of consistent quality anyway.

having just bought a Little Bastard and being a valve novice (who's about to try ECC81 to try and clean up the LB tone a little), I'd be interested to know: what were the results of your trials and tests? Which valves were best/which had what effect?
