This. I've owned loads of Fender Precisions over the years (probably 15), and my Lakland Bob Glaub was better than most them, including a 62 American Re-Issue. However, the 2 Fender P's I've got left are pretty much perfect, so there are great ones out there, and I've not tried the more recent Fender P's, which have a very good write up.

I think you'd be better off with a random Lakland than a random Fender.... maybe....

It's all a bit pointless as it must always be down to personal preference. For what it's worth, and in my humble opinion, I would opt for Fender.
