mikeh Posted May 31, 2012 Author Posted May 31, 2012 Some more close up pics of the frets as requested
BassBunny Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Mike. did you get my email about my latest aquisition? Playing in Coppull on Sat and Whittle Le Woods Mon afternoon if you fancy a look. Certainly fits the "different Sandberg" description.
mikeh Posted June 1, 2012 Author Posted June 1, 2012 I did mate, read it on my phone and meant to reply later. Certainly sounds interesting, and worth considering if I don't get any trade offers. Although is really like another spector now, there's some nice ones for sale atm ;-)
mikeh Posted June 3, 2012 Author Posted June 3, 2012 I've just put it on the bathroom scales and it went 10lb 8
molan Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012
I've just put it on the bathroom scales and it went 10lb 8
Ouch - I can see how that might get wearing on a long gig Have you tried one of those really cool Mono straps? Might help your shoulder a little
mikeh Posted June 4, 2012 Author Posted June 4, 2012 I haven't heard of them, will have a look. I've of a wide levy's comfort type strap which is really good, if a little long. Every gig gets easier to be honest, wo maybe getting used to it now. But would still like a 5 string, or a spector would he good.
mikeh Posted June 6, 2012 Author Posted June 6, 2012
Tentatively withdrawn
While there's a White Lakland DJ4 for sale this is back up. Original price £750ovno
fretmeister Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Awesome! I have a silver one - that is damn heavy too, but it sounds SOOOO good. What is it with Germans and wood that is denser than lead?
mikeh Posted June 6, 2012 Author Posted June 6, 2012 They do sound amazingly good. Germans really do know how to put a damn good bass guitar together.
mikeh Posted June 7, 2012 Author Posted June 7, 2012 Bump again, while there are still basses Id like to but this is available. Got a row of 6 gigs coming, I doubt I'll want to get rid when Ive given it another good go.
Bassdriver Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 That looks really nice. I have a hankering after a Sandberg cos I keep hearing good things about them but I want 5 strings and have recently acquired a Lakland Skyline 55/60 and an Overwater J Series 5, both of which I love. My Marleux is also not for sale. Yes, Teutonic tonality is rather good. Have another string put on and I'll give it some thought :-) But in the mean time.... Bump!!
mikeh Posted June 9, 2012 Author Posted June 9, 2012 Another Bump to give a clearer Idea what Im looking for. Would sell for £700 + shipping, no offers. Or would trade for a 4/5 string of similar value, trade value £750-£850 Basses I would consider, Spector Euro LX or Rebop Dlx. a white Lakland DJ4 (other colours considered) Lakland Bob Glaub 4/5, ideally black/black/maple Lakland 5502/4402 I dont have cash to add to a trade, so looking for something of similar value. I am open to all trade offers though so hit me up. There where some offers Ive already had, that I would reconsider now, but cant remember who sent them!! Lowfrequency90 Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 that wood is gorgeous, sandberg make really great recording basses!
mikeh Posted June 10, 2012 Author Posted June 10, 2012 I do have to say I've been more impressed with this sandberg than any other bass I've owned. All Pms replied, keep the offers coming.
mikeh Posted June 13, 2012 Author Posted June 13, 2012 Bump, while there are still a couple basses id like to buy. Still consider 4/5 string trades.
chuck_stones Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 How about a MM Bongo? This guy might trade his Bongo for a Sandy JM4 - http://basschat.co.uk/topic/178905-fsft-musicman-bongo-4-hh/
mikeh Posted June 13, 2012 Author Posted June 13, 2012 Cheers mate, I noticed that earlier. Used to own a Bongo and even though its Fugly, played and sounded amazing. Certainly worth considering. Mike

Mike
LOL, glad it's not just me who thinks they went a bit off the reservation with the design, but as you say, they're great sounding (and playing) basses - you looking for something [s]new[/s] different?
