wrinkleygit Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Thanks to a fellow b'chatter sarah thomas who put me on to the "ukulelecosmos forum" I came across a stunning craftsman Stuart Longridge who built this for me- [attachment=108365:uke1.jpg] [attachment=108366:uke2.jpg] [attachment=108367:uke4.jpg] english walnut body, lacewood neck, ebony h'stock,fretboard & bridge, all stuart's instruments are oil finished with almond oil which buffs up to a fantastic shine going to try this out on my warwick fna, sounds just as good as it looks, mike b Quote

sarah thomas Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 The TV Pal is made of plastic, as is the Islander on the far right. The Islander plays fine - made by Maccaferri, but the TV Pal is a bit of a gimmick. My own attempt sits between the two plastic fantastics. The one on the far left (La Foley) is the finest - and the one I'd save if the house was on fire. And I always thought there was something oddly appealing about Wallace - now I know what.
