Chrismanbass
Hi guys Recently aquired a Bacchus jazz bass from Jc_riffs on here and i'm very happy with it awesome sound and great feel. I've tried doing some digging on the internet about Bacchus basses, however all i can find about them is the basics i know they're from japan and pretty boutiquey. Anyone have any more info on the company? or indeed opinions on basses they've tried? cheers Chris

Doctor J
Bacchus make amazing instruments, I'm definitely a big fan. As mentioned, Deviser are the parent company and make instruments under the names of Headway, STR, Seventy Seven, Momose and more. It's all hand made, incredibly high quality, low number stuff. I received my last one just a few weeks ago, it makes me smile just thinking about it. KennysFord
I used to own an 80's Riverhead 5 'er from Headway. It was a cracking bass, absolutely top notch build quality. I just couldn't get my head or fingers for that matter round the extra string hehe. If I had some spare cash I'd love to own a Bacchus, enjoy it. Chrismanbass
trust me this is far from a jazz bazz, bartonlini pup's and a john east sounds pretty sweet compared to the jazz bass 5 i traded for this IMHO
hofa
http://www.guitarsjapan.com/deviserinfopage.html here is some info about the company. I got almost the same bass a year ago except for the pickups (Bacchus handmade) and preamp (Glockenklang 3 band eq). I just love the bass
Chrismanbass
thats nice man i think it is the same bass and someones just dropped new pup's n preamp in mine looks exactly the same
hofa
I changed the preamp myself Your bass is just slightly different - I have two piece bridge (from your pictures it is hard to see if you have the same) and you have just small battery cover at the back (and that is nice), but my bass has big black cover for the preamp Do you know how old is your bass? Mine was built in 2002.
BigRedX
IIRC there are two lines of Bacchus bass - the premium ones which are made in Japan, and then there's a cheaper range which are made in Korea.
