BassBunny
I've always been a big fan of Cort Guitars and Basses, ( I guess building for Lakland, G&L, Fender, Yamaha etc. is a good pedigree), and Sandbergs. Don't know how I "tripped" over this, but Sandberg have joined up with Cort and come up with this: [attachment=108422:Cort1.JPG][attachment=108423:Cort3.JPG][attachment=108424:Cort2.JPG] Called the Cort Arona, it is designed by Sandberg and built by Cort. Prices seemed pretty reasonable until I was ordering something from Thomann and realised that at current Euro/£ exchange rates they are selling it at less than £350. Bearing in mind it is all Sandberg hardware, a Sandberg designed Pre-Amp and Delano pick-ups, I thought it must be worth a punt, (and they have made a mistake). It has just arrived and I cannot believe it is soooo good. It is very much a Sandberg Basic, but with 2 pickups. Only weighs 7lb 6oz. Has Sandbergs Open-Pore finish and the build quality is fantastic. I used to have a Sandberg Basic but felt it was a bit "one dimensional" due to the single pick-up configuration. I can confirm that this looks and feels every bit as good as my Basic was, but with the additional J type P/U. Probably the only downside is the 2-band pre-amp, but at this price it could be changed. Not had a chance to play it in anger yet, but through a pair of headphones it is really nice. A very, very happy BassBunny Edited May 21, 2012 by BassBunny

earlofmar11
I have the four string version and I absolutely love it! To me, the body shape seems more like a Sandberg Bullet. But never having owned a Sandberg, I can't tell how the Arona compares.
