Hey guys,

I've joined a band and they're first song to get things kicked off is the title name :) now as you guys are aware John Entwistle is an astonishing bassist! And im having trouble getting the bass line down,

Im gunna be a cheap skate and is there any easier way of playing the bass line?

Cheers

Hi TJAS92,

Fortunately help is at hand - but you'll have to adapt as best you can. From what I can tell, his technique was all his own, so that makes simple copying difficult.

The best of luck,

Unless I was in a Who tribute, I wouldn't bother trying to nail his very unique technique.
I used to do that song, can't recall any particularly trick bits? Unless I was just disinterested,....yeah that was it....clatterbucket Entwhistle :D

Not as difficult as it first appears!

As mentioned above, the Ox uses some pretty unusual techniques - try listening to the Van Halen version for a more straightforward interpretation of Entwistle's original bass part
