The seventies Gibson Thunderbirds are also known as the Bicentennial thunderbirds. Only produced in limited numbers, and quite different looking (and sounding) from the current birds

This one is in nice condition - there is a minor headstock repair - but it is complete with case

Ebony finish, 1979, red and blue thunderbird logo.

Looking for trades of anything (guitars or basses) pre 1982, preferably passive and fretted

Anyone like old Thunderbirds here?

bump - i'll take some more detailed pics over the weekend - especially if anyone is serious about this. I do have the bridge cover (not shown) and original Gibson hard case too by the way

Shaggy should be round soon, he likes old T birds, think he may have one though.

Lovely bass BTW.

Lol - I did PM Jules when he posted this in May, but I know he's pretty busy on the "dark side" (Fly & Vintage Guitar site admin)

'Tis nice indeed, don't see many in ebony finish

Yes it has flats on it now. Really sorry I have not answered anyone on this or provided more pics. Something much more pressing has come up in real life... I will post some more pics in this thread as soon as I can.

But what I was hoping for was maybe a nice Fender telecaster bass, or maybe a vintage 6 string bass (Hagstrom/Gibson/Fender). I'd like to see if something like that can be arranged in the first instance
