I was a bit naive thinking that mine was worth more. I've found a bass that I could've easily paid several thousand for with a tone to die for. This is how a jazz should sound like!

I hardly notice the scale length as I only play this at the moment. It had its first big tonight with the Jazz-drum and bass trio (tracks will be up here after we go to the studios)

Thanks to all for the help. I can see myself sticking with this bass for life!

I do love the Fender Marcus Miller bass, it is one I have been after for lng while and will eventually own when I think the price is right with me but the lakland basses are extremely nice. I think I'd prob find myself owning a few of these (especially the Decade ^_^) before owning the fender.

I'm a big guy myself and never really found any scale length a problem, although with the TBird I have adjust the strap a little to compensate the whole length of the bass. But is there much tone gain/loss with a 35" or is it there for the B?

Haha guys, but I'm serious this time!
As long as this works I'll keep it, as this is THE tine that I've been searching for, all in a reasonably-priced passive bass!

The scale length is a bit weird compared to others, but after a week or so of playing I'll be completely settled in.
The low B on this is HUGE, much bigger than the 34's I've played (including Fodera and Marleaux basses!), but I'm unsure whether this is the same across the board...

I'd go further and say the preamp is junk, to my ears the bass sounds much better with the preamp bypassed and run passive. I run mine passive through an outboard Sadowsky preamp (and also my other Fenders), it really adds warmth and fatness without losing clarity.

At what point is this a MM bass then... ? as MM was all about Sadowsky sound in the J bass as far as I am concerned.

Haha, I know, just thought I'd call you on it ;)

It's out on another gig tonight at Scarborough Jazz after a new set of DRs go on it.

Love it!

It's not that much like Marcus' actual bass, as his has a sadowsky preamp and better pickups.

The tone is ridiculously thin for my tastes...
