Fret buzz

Thicker strings or raise the action. If it's over most of the neck you're probably best off leaving the truss rod alone as it's unlikely to need a tweak.

Are you using new strings? Sometimes different brands can have different tensions.

A bit of fretbuzz is alright anyway, it won't get picked up by the amp and usually if it does, it just comes across as a bit of growl. If you want a cleaner sound or it's choking the strings then you should maybe get it looked at.

This can be so many things, and as much as I live to promote the DIY approach to bass, as it improves your knowledge of how your instrument works, I would say take it into a good guitar store (bass store preferably) and ask for you bass to have its action, truss rod and intonation looked at.
I've found that this is the most common problem when it comes to fret buzz.

+1 to the above comment. A bit of fret buzz is natural...
