Bowks
Just wondering how people are powering their M5 units when used on a pedalboard. I have one that I was running from one of the variable outlets on the MXR CAE Power System, but I have recently had issues with the unit blinking and rebooting, so I have had to go back to the ugly Line 6 wall wart, which has mucked up a tidy looking pedalboard. I'd love to hear what other users are doing, in case there's a more elegant solution I could employ.
1976fenderhead
The power draw of the M5 is just under 400 ma and the highest your power supply can deliver is 200 in an output, so that's not gonna work. Daisy chaining it causes noise and no isolator out there lets 400 ma through either. This is probably the most elegant solution you can get: http://www.voodoolab.com/pedalpower_digital.htm
GarethFlatlands
Diago Powerstation. No problems at all.
Bowks
I'd seen the Voodoo Labs power supplies but discounted them due to the cost just to run one pedal. However, thanks to Gareth, I think Diago have the answer! Their Micropower unit is small enough to fit under my pedalboard and I can use the IEC outlet on the side of the Power System to run it. That would be easier than me cracking open a 9v wall wart supply and mounting it in a project box with an IEC lead as well a a lot safer than my electronics work!! terocious
Doesn't it work with 1spot? I just ordered M5 and remembering to read somewhere that 1spot will do the job?
ordep
been using onespot on mine, daisy chained with other pedals, but theres a little bit of noise at times. might be OT, but the M5 is on sale on effectpowersupplies, might be the right time to purchase.
