Clarky
Sorry, yes I may be pished but maple boards with black blocks (Geddy Lee Jazzes, another thread on a seafoam green FSR Precision) are plain fugly to me. SHoot me down and I know its personal taste ... but really. Its like a Porsche in orange or a Capri with stripes down the side to me, just ugly and tasteless. I expect to be blocked by countless BC'ers for this
Ou7shined
I used to like Cheryl Cole but now I think she's reet fugly. What is with that? Oh, I don't mind blocks... used to to like them more than I do now though.
Bassman Sam
I'm with you Clarky, it hurts my eyes. Wastes a good maple neck. IMHO, E I E I O etc.

What's fugly about this bass (apart from the colour) is the foul Pup near the bridge. Makes me want to vomit and fight all at the same time. Wrong, totally wrong. Love blocks, me

heminder
they're not too bad. rosewood with plastic white dots are far uglier to me.

Lozz196
Yep, blocks should only be that pearl colour, or whatever the real terminology is.
Musicman20
Maple with black blocks looks cheap. Rosewood with pearl blocks looks classic.

MrTaff
Plain fingerboards look so much better than stupid blocks or dots, I can't even see them when I'm playing, so what's the point?

Ed_S
Nah, sorry, can't agree. I'm very happy with mine... ...especially with the thumb rest removed and a Badass II fitted! See, if you don't like the black blocks, I figured you'd be looking at the stock photo and thinking "the only thing that could make that worse is if he'd stuck one of those pointless bridges on it", and yeah, I did it

TRBboy
I think any blocks are fine as long as they suit the bass, as in most of the examples above. Don't like the black blocks and seafoam green though! It looks like a proper cut 'n' shut job! FWIW I think that P/J is about the best pickup combo for a passive bass!
EssentialTension
I don't usually like maple let alone the black blocks but I do like this one:
brensabre79
Pearl blocks and white binding look good on rosewood or maple. black blocks... never did undersand that one, it looks like plastic. also, black binding only works on a white body as far as i'm concerned... and even then its got to be the right bass. That Lakland is lovely, but it would have been so much better with pearl
Jellyfish
Only time i've seen blocks that are nice are when thepick guard is the same colour.
