Richeyrockshack
Hi there, Got a Jap 'Tune' electric bass I'm working on to bring back to life, shes been refinished at some point in nasty Matt black, although originally would have been a purple sparkle finish. Any idea what it is I've got? I'll add photos ASAP... Richey.
BigRedX
The Tune Japan website is here. If the bass you have is still in production then you should find the details there. Unfortunately there's no archive for the models no longer being made. However there is also a Korean company called Tune with the same logo and producing very similar looking instruments. AFAIK the two companies were connected at some point, although now they are completely separate entities. Also there is reason believe that while the Japanese company is the original, the Korean one now technically owns all the legal rights to the Tune name. It's all massively complicated. The Japanese Tune have also been working in conjunction with Lightwave to produce the Space Bass. Anyway post some pictures of your bass please, there are a couple of people here who know about Tunes basses and if the web sites don't provide any answers they might be able to. AndyTravis
There was a great looking tune twb in the bass centre when they had a Manchester branch (early 2000's) it was transparent blue with a single MM pickup, and to my at the time inexperienced eyes loads of knobs and switches. Unfortunately the preamp was goosed, I had the money in my pocket at the time and walked away 'devastated'. Never seen one since in the flesh, nor online in that finish; such a cool bass!
