dincz
the 'slower' bit is the response of the valve when the attack of the bass signal hits it - we're talking milliseconds here. That is a scientific fact.
And if we're talking nanoseconds, you'll find that valves were/are used at radio-frequencies. Clearly a bollockesque over-generalisation. Edit: I see someone beat me to it. Edited May 29, 2012 by dincz

LiamPodmore
The basic answer to all of this is: Some folks like all valve Some folks like hybrids Some folks like solid state Some folks don't really give a sh*t if their rig sounds good and doesn't break every week. sk8
I have all three All Valve amp Hybrid (Three valve Premap) Solid State My preference would be the all valve but it weighs 80lbs so i go with te hybrid. All sound good and do a good job but my Hiwatt with a P Bass sounds Glorious and has something the others don't.
ashevans09
Honestly, I prefer my clean valve tone over any hybrid or SS clean tone I've heard. Just my 2 cents. I don't think anything I've heard sounds better than my mesa.
