daflewis Posted July 28, 2012 Author Posted July 28, 2012 (edited) Hi Steve, Thanks once again, for taking the time to share your thoughts on the strings - and such nice thoughts too! I think that, as Bremen discovered, the big problem with these strings is the diameter and the problems of getting them to fit on a bass - I have them on one of my basses and love them for jazz, but were it not for my work with the company I probably wouldn't have even tried them. Cheers, Daf Edited August 6, 2012 by daflewis
BassInMyFace Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 would love a go on these. thinking i will rely less on the magnetic pup going forwards so time to try some full on slap strings. can i be put on the list please?
steve Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 I'll be taking the slaps off my bass over the next couple of days... not too sure who's next on the list, could do with a pm with postage details
daflewis Posted August 6, 2012 Author Posted August 6, 2012 Hi chaps, Just had a scan through, and it looks like it might be jimryan?? Cheers, Daf
Jimryan Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Cheers daf, I've no longer got a double bass, but forgot to remove myself from the list
daflewis Posted August 6, 2012 Author Posted August 6, 2012 And bassinmyface, yes, looks like you next!
Jimryan Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Never really played it enough. Plus intend to move about abit this year and it wasn't practicle. She's now in the good hands of BC's vey own merlin.
daflewis Posted August 8, 2012 Author Posted August 8, 2012 (edited) A shame, but fair enough - and I'm sure it's gone to a good home. .... We just have to get Merlin to try them out now... Edited August 8, 2012 by daflewis
steve Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 the strings have left the building - hope you like them them Patrick
BassInMyFace Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 i need to take these strings off before gigs at weekend. is there anyone next on the list? (btw i love the strings but need my steel cores back to cope with festival stages). can you just invent a set with steel cores please?
BassInMyFace Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 strings are ready to go to next person. is there anybody who fancies them?
TheRev Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 I'll be finished with the Honey set this week, so if no one else is in line for the silvers I'll have them. Dave.
alistair Sutcliffe Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I realise i'm about a year late to the party, but is this still going on? I'd like to try them if possible.
daflewis Posted March 17, 2013 Author Posted March 17, 2013 Hi Alistair, Sorry I'm late, just got back from holiday. Yes it's still going on - though it had gone a bit quiet of late... I think they're with The Rev at the moment? and nobody else is waiting, so try dropping him a PM - unless it's already sorted... Cheers Daf
alistair Sutcliffe Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Cheers Daf they're on their way to me so should be all sorted. Thanks for your help
alistair Sutcliffe Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 They're now on their way to Jhowhdheyieh.
cattytown Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 I'd be interested in trying them please - have had rockabillys for as long as I can remember!
daflewis Posted May 20, 2013 Author Posted May 20, 2013 Hi Cattytown, No problem - sorry i didnt see your post before... i'll get in touch with Jhowhdheyieh, i think hes done with them now...
cattytown Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 First impressions - very nice. Love the bite at the start of a note playing pizz.
daflewis Posted June 6, 2013 Author Posted June 6, 2013 Thanks Cattytown, yeh a lot of the guys who use like them for jazz or blues/roots mention the nice "click" or "pop" at the start of the note - I'd also love to use them more myself, but sadly the amount of bowing I have to do makes it impossible... Glad you're enjoying them!
