Clarky Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 (edited) Hi all, its a bit special interest so didn't post it on this site but - if anyone's after creating that Stone Roses look - I am flogging my restored FG Rick 3000 on eBay (old link below; see latest post for new link). BigBeefChief Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Slightly off-topic but I met Mani last night. Top bloke. He was doing a DJ set and even played one of my bands new tracks! How cool is that?
Clarky Posted April 20, 2008 Author Posted April 20, 2008 Well cool! Seems like a funny guy when I've seen him onstage. In the thread about best bass lines on this site, should include 'I wanna be adored' and 'Fool's Gold', both spine tingling tracks
Shaggy Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 Can't link to the 'bay (at work!) Any chance of pics / price here?
Clarky Posted April 21, 2008 Author Posted April 21, 2008 (edited)
Can't link to the 'bay (at work!) Any chance of pics / price here?
Not got memory card with photos on right now. All I can do at the moment is give you a copy of the text and tell you that the starting price of the auction is £699 (edited for new eBay auction). "Beautifully restored 1976 Ricky 3000, the short-scale model played by Mani (STone Roses, Primal Scream). Bought last year as a worn Mapleglo with butchered black scratchplate. Restoration included custom painting in Fireglo by Sims Custom Shop, addition of NOS Rick 3000 white pickguard from US, painting of truss rod cover by Sims to match pickguard, set-up by Bass Gallery in Camden. It is immaculate and the beautiful high gloss body has no scratches or dings or any kind. Cost me a fair amount (>£350) to restore this which - together with rarity value ("as rare as rocking horse sh*t" according to Mani!) - means starting price is not low. But if you want a rare Rick 3000 in ultra-fabulous nick (ungigged snce restoration) you will not find a nicer example. My 100% feedback also tells you I am a trustworthy seller. Reason for selling is that I have decided I prefer playing my long-scale 1980 Rick 4001 bass and I cannot justify this sitting on the wall as a beautiful museum piece. I am based near Hammersmith, London if pick-up wanted. Note no bidders from outside UK, no <10 feedback bidders and I will not meet in a dark alley somewhere to deliver for cash! Payment via Paypal or cleared cheque. Will deliver well-packed in bubble wrap but do not have a hard case for this." Edited June 2, 2008 by Clarky
