Guitar wall hanger things

Ok, I am thinking of putting my guitars on the wall for a number of reasons. I like the idea of the small hooks that you can lift them on and off. I wondered if anyone has actually made there own or found something that does the job equally well.

I bought mine for around £15. I'd definitely recommend them, top quality stuff.

I bought some cheapy ones off eBay. Black neoprene covered fingers, 2 screws into the wall. Think I paid £11 for 6. They've been up for 2 years or so, no problems.

Might be worth considering the ones which hold the body aswell. They can then go sideways on and look awesome

hercules on the wooden plate for me, i trust them with both expensive and heavy instruments, they're nice and safe as they 'grab' the neck and there's virtually zero chance of the instrument escaping. might be worth having a word with your local music shop, if you want 12 they might cut you a good deal.

I've got the Herc grabber ones too - worth looking at the various prices available as when buying in bulk the postage costs can fall as a proportion of the whole.

It's been said before and you probably know already, but the soft, plastic / rubbery sheaths that go over the prongs (fnarr) on most hangers will play merry hell with a nitro-finish. Wrap a bit of cloth around them if any of your instruments are nitro.

I would never leave a bass hanging on a wall hanger for more than a couple of hours.

This might sound daft, but with the wall hangers, how do you protect the body of the guitar from scratches off the wall its hanging from? They look like the guitar sits a few inches away but there's nothing to stop them moving if caught accidentally?

be careful, since they join to the walls, they belong to the landlord afterwards under current case law

Actually, it has quite a chunky base, so the guitar hangs well away from the wall. To make it hit the wall, you'd actually need to give it a good solid whack near the bridge and then it would just catch the bottom edge. I don't think I'd use it where you have small children likely to be running around, but if you live with sensible adults it should be ok.

I did tell the butler to take the basses down from the wall before dusting them.

Just put two more of these up, cheap off ebay but so far so good and as you can tell they can be tilted so as you can hang guitars on an angle.
