Whilst you wait, you could pick up a copy of Bass Guitar for Dummies and jump to chapter 5 - Understanding Major and Minor Structures (unless of course you know this stuff already) and get some good solid theory behind you for when your bass arrives. Its a real beauty but I'm terrible playing it at the moment, finger walking is going to take some adjusting but man its soooooooooooooo awesome. I thought the smaller fretboard would alleviate that issue but after a 2 hours practising my hand kills now. Still going to stick to finger walking but the sounds from the sounds aren't the warm low sound you expect from a bass, instead it sounds choppy and lots of buzzzz. [/quote] Yeah, the stretch at the bottom end of the neck can be a bit of a killer when you first start playing but it does get easier. As do the aching forearms - take a break when that starts to happen. Are you practicing through computer monitors? I really doesn't take much to make many of them crap out by playing a bass through them as they're not really designed with that in mind, The usual advice applies when your speakers are complaining - turn down the bass eq or volume, or both. Great lessons, great player and very likeable guy so you can easily sit through all of his videos [url="http://scottsbasslessons.com/"]http://scottsbasslessons.com/[/url] Glad your bass arrived and don't worry about it being difficult at the moment, it will all just come with practice. There's a second part too. They were so helpful to me that I bought his backing track pack (should be linked to from the lesson page above). In fact, I did all of the bassline for this one after watching Scott's lesson and pretty much took in his whole I III V structure advice. So thanks Scott!
