Wanted - Double Bass Flight Case

Hi,

Has anyone out there got a carbon case fro double bass for sale or any hard case really.
Pretty urgent, I'm flying a lot with my bass and I've learnt the hard way...

Ah I've seen these but not close up. Do you think it would be safe on a flight in this case. The airline have just totaled my first bass. I have to replace it and take proper precautions.

Those polystyrene cases are fine for traveling in the back of a van but there's no way I'd put my bass on a plane in one. If you absolutely must fly with you bass put it in a Stevenson.

I just try at all cost to avoid flying with a DB these days. I used to use a Stevenson all the time to fly but with security the way it is now it's a nightmare.... avoid avoid avoid

couldnt believe it when i checked thomann and they are over a grand! its a box with wheels!!
obviously its money well spent if your bass is worth a packet, however i think i would still wince at paying a grand.

Checked out the stevensons, very expensive but obviously worth it to protect your instrument. Has anyone had any experience of the german made flight cases on ebay. There £729 less than half the price.

You could look into a [url="http://foldingbass.com"]Chadwick Folding bass[/url]. Still pricey but easier to use.
