chrismuzz
Almost half an hour long but this is a really great review of the Markbass Combo 121 Lite, by it's endorsee Alain Caron himself! He's clearly really passionate about it! i'm not even interested in buying it but it's a pleasure to watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=manVAVxPIbc Edited June 2, 2012 by chrismuzz

Prime_BASS
I can't believe I watched that all the way through, better than watching the news for 30 minuets anyway. even heard the floor coupling effect being mentioned!!!! Don't really pay much attention to the solo bass world, as it's pretty boring..... But he has avery interesting technique at the start of the vid popping the higher strings with multiple fingers. He gets better use out of that VLE than what I ever do.
chrismuzz
Yeah the video basically summed up everything it's taken me 9 years to learn And I'm not too heavily into the solo bass world, but I do like to learn tips and tricks from the guys who are and then use them myself badly
molan
Resurrecting an old thread - I got to play one of these for a while today and it sounded really nice Lots of depth and went really loud without breaking up. Although Alain C is more renowned as a solo player I thought it sounded great with a classic vintage P bass, tone wound right down, and pumping AC DC riffs. . . xilddx
"you don't usually boost eq, you usually cut it" That is bang on, I learned that by accident a couple of years ago. Sounds like a fantastic amp with totally useful features, I'm excited by it, if I used amps I'd want it.
