Shockwave Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 OMG OMG OMG. http://www.fender.co...rtno=0140052350 http://www.fender.co...rtno=0140053350 The Jazz needs Cream blocks and binding, but otherwise AMAZING. FINALLY no more expensive Warmoth route.... Now to find some cash... Quote
Kiwi Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 Apart from the Fender V are there any other instruments they haven't re-released? The Fender Elite series...? Quote
Shockwave Posted June 2, 2012 Author Posted June 2, 2012 Any idea how much these babies will go for? Mexican made I assume. Quote
Happy Jack Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012
Mexican made I assume.
No ... Antigua. Quote

Grand Wazoo Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 I've noticed that they have the bullet type trussrod adjustment on the top of the headstock instead of the adjustment at the heel, so you don't need to remove the pickguard to sort out the neck curvature, but apart from that I am not into that colour and that is just my personal opinion. OliverBlackman Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 ahhhhhhhhhh!!!! The only thing making me think twice about that jazz is the lack of blocks and binding. I will always try saving up for the real deal but in the mean time...... Quote
Clarky Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 I'm a big fan of Antigua finishes but the neck on the Jazz is a mistake Quote
debwilliams Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012
Good.
Quote
Actually, looking at the pics, it appears that the Jazz has a bullet truss rod adjuster, but the Precision looks to have one of those awful fake truss rod adjusters. My Road Worn Strat has one of those fake paint things. Great guitar, but I feel uncomfortable about that part of it. Quote
EskimoBassist Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 I just don't know about this. Sure is distinctive though. Quote
discreet Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 (edited) Never understood the Antigua thing at all, but then I don't understand a lot of things... Edited June 2, 2012 by discreet Quote
3below Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 The J has dots... is the only way. Then again some like blocks, so come on Fender, you have cnc machines, the cost difference between blocks and dots is pence. Both should be offered Question is will it craze like 70s finish, and do you want crazing or not? Quote
ras52 Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 Hm, I love my Antigua Strat (rosewood), not sure it suits the basses tho Quote

Billy Apple Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 Not my thing at all. I can understand why they don't bring this finish out too often. Just Google'd Antigua, and apart from the Caribbean Island, it also means ancient in Spanish. So maybe it some sort of ancient-y antique-y finish... Looks like frosted icing to me. Quote

Ou7shined Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 Never got 'em. I don't mind the antique look on the bodies (skiddy burst I call it) but the effect does not translate to the pickguard, it's just too fake... gaudy even. Quote
