directly recorded and unedited with my roland r-05.
the bass is a usa lakland 55-94 through an old swr bass 350 redface and a hartke xl 4x10" + older crate 2x10" (the ampeg type).

I like this. How do you rate your Roland R-05? I just use my iPhone 4's voice recorder at band practice. This is an example of one where I just popped it on a chair 5-6 metres away from the band: [url="http://soundcloud.com/mornats/money-band-rehearsal-with"]http://soundcloud.com/mornats/money-band-rehearsal-with[/url]. Certainly not bad for a phone! I was just wondering if it was worth investing in a dedicated recorder.

I like the roland r-05 a lot. compared it with the zoom h2 and maybe the roland has a slightly little less bass, but overall soundquality is equal and it feels better with the metal housing. also it is not battery hungry.
but if I had to buy one now, I'd probably go for a zoom q4hd or compare it with the new nokia 808 pure view that also does stereo hd videos.

Aha! Well this thread has been useful because it alerted me to a) the Basschat SoundCloud group, and the fact that there are such things as SoundCloud groups at all! I'll be adding some stuff shortly...
