john_the_bass
Now then, I went into a guitar shop at the weekend (always a mistake) and saw the most beautiful Les Paul. I'd like to try and get my hands on it, which means selling my Les Paul. It's 2003, has a nice figured top and a couple of mods, the biggest mod being the replacement of the stock bridge pickup for a Rio Grande Texas Humbucker and also the addition of a set of Graphtech string saver saddles (the old saddles were knick-knacked). I've also had a bone nut fitted as the old one was cut too low and I've had dunlop straplock strap buttons installed too. It's been seen by a couple of techs for various jobs and every tech who's looked at it has told me that it's a great example. 60s neck is very nice and it's been set up well. It has a fair bit of buckle rash on the back, the nickel hardware is starting to show its age a bit, a couple of scratches and i knocked the corner of the headstock into the drummer's cymbal at a gig - it's been well played basically but never abused. I have no reason to part with it other than I have seen on in a different finish which I was after when I bought this one (but couldn't find it), so this has to pay for it. If I can't sell it (and I know times are hard at the moment) I'll hang on to it and keep gigging it as I can't afford to put a lot of money towards a new guitar and the mrs to be expects me to pay for a wedding next year!! So, here's a pic, if you want more drop me a line. You can come and play it in Leicester or if you don't want to, I can ship it for about £15 I think - comes with the Gibson/TKL hardcase. edit: Price! Ideally I'd like £950 or thereabouts for it.
