Brian Bromberg is a fantastic player, this time on double bass. He's overflowing with ideas in this piece.

He's a great player indeed and king of the jazz face . I don't really care for that tone though...really low action that sounds like a bg. Stanley does the same thing.

There is a cd out there called Homage to Duke by Dave Grusin. Bromberg is brilliant on it. Worth seeking out.

He's a great player, and normally 'proper bass' players don't interest me much!

His sideways bass playing is pretty cool too

He is a fantastic player, I've been listening a lot to his It Is What It Is album lately... admittedly mostly for the epic slap/piccolo sections but it ain't particularly common for a player to be that good on 'both kinds' of bass.
