silverfoxnik Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 (edited) SOLD Hi Folks Very nice example of an Ibanez SRX 705 5-string thru-neck bass for sale. I've just added another bass to my collection, so this needs to go now. Any interest at all at £225 + p&p? if not, Evil Bay, Gumtree and Friday-Ad beckon... Photos: Though I've not had it long, I'd guess it's about 5-7 years old.. Nevertheless, it's in very good condition; the 2-band e.q works fine, there are no issues with the neck and the frets have a fair amount of life left in them. It has recently been set-up with a medium action and plays very nicely. It has a thunderous low B on it and tonally, I would say it suits a broad range of music, though probably is more suitable for rockier styles.. There's plenty of info about these on the web, but here's some links to help you on your way: http://www.talkbass....x-705-a-680066/ http://www.zzounds.c...view--IBASRX705 http://www.talkbass....x-705-a-680066/ You Tube link: http://www.google.co...KL1OguLPxj4uWWA Features: Neck-thru construction 5pc. Maple/ Walnut Neck Material Rosewood Fingerboard 24/Medium frets Light ash body Accu-Cast B205 bridge PFR pickups EQB-IIDX electronics Why am I selling, I hear you ask?? Well... I'd been after one for a while as I'd been hankering for a thru-neck fiver for ages. However, though it sounds pretty good to me, I just can't quite get on with the narrower string spacing, which is by my reckoning, 17mm at the Bridge. Because I use a Fender Roscoe Beck V most of the time and that has a 19mm spacing, I'm finding the change over at gigs a little too tricky.. So, if anyone out there is looking for one of these, I'm looking for £250 + p&p for it and though there's no hard case with it, i am happy to post at buyers expense in a gig bag and would make sure that it's extremely well packaged up! However, I would much rather it was picked up and tested beforehand, if at all possible... Tea & biscuits provided of course for prospective buyers, who are very welcome! Please PM me if you have any questions or just post them here and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks for looking! Nik Edited October 15, 2012 by silverfoxnik
silverfoxnik Posted June 9, 2012 Author Posted June 9, 2012 Wow! Things move so fast around here these day.. A quick Euro 2012 BUMP methinks is in order..!

silverfoxnik Posted June 10, 2012 Author Posted June 10, 2012 Thanks for the very kind words Jon! And I can definitely say the same of you in return. Hope all's well with you? Oh..and before I forget, a quick pre-gig BUMP!!
silverfoxnik Posted June 11, 2012 Author Posted June 11, 2012 And replied... Thanks.. Another B-U-M-P !! This time a pre- England v France one...
silverfoxnik Posted June 12, 2012 Author Posted June 12, 2012 Another B-U-M-P !! I've been asked about trade options on this but would prefer a straight sale.. However, a passive 5 string with 18-19mm string spacing could be tempting, as could a P bass of some kind.. Thanks Nik
ashevans09 Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 These are absolutely awesome basses! Steal at that price
CJPJ Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Bugger. Would have had this had I not just spanked £500 crisp ones on a new 505
silverfoxnik Posted June 12, 2012 Author Posted June 12, 2012 That's a shame! Hope the 505 works out for you...
silverfoxnik Posted June 16, 2012 Author Posted June 16, 2012 Weekend 'cheeky backheel' kind of B-U-M-P ! .
silverfoxnik Posted June 16, 2012 Author Posted June 16, 2012 Weekend 'cheeky backheel' kind of B-U-M-P ! .
XB26354 Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 I briefly had one of these and it's a real unsung hero. The midrange Ibanez 5's are great basses, and this is the perfect rock/funk aggressive bass. Lots of character, like a big p-bass. If only I wasn't after yet another bike...
silverfoxnik Posted June 16, 2012 Author Posted June 16, 2012 Cheers! It is very easy to play and really quite verstile in tone..
silverfoxnik Posted June 18, 2012 Author Posted June 18, 2012 Hi Folks Monday morning B-U-M-P etc, etc, etc...
silverfoxnik Posted June 19, 2012 Author Posted June 19, 2012 Amazing - dropped down 4 pages in 24 hours! For a depressed market, this Forum moves pretty quickly... Anyway, a quick pre- England match BUMP!
silverfoxnik Posted June 20, 2012 Author Posted June 20, 2012 BUMP! No interest in this thru-neck Ibby then? Any feedback welcome by the way... Nik
silverfoxnik Posted June 21, 2012 Author Posted June 21, 2012 BUMP for a price drop to £300 + p&p...
silverfoxnik Posted June 24, 2012 Author Posted June 24, 2012 Will this be the last 'pre-England match' BUMP I can do this month??
Shawman Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012
Bump, c'mon this has to be a bargain!
I agree - would love to buy this but the bass fund is dry
