It truly was a great event. Thanks so much to the organisers - slapper and yorkie.

What struck me apart from all the lovely gear was what thoroughly nice people you all are and how easy it was to schmooz around the room and try out bits and pieces.

I got some pics that i'll load up when i get a minute.

Thank you all.

Jerry

As others have said, thanks for organisers and to you all for bringing such fine gear.

So much there to like, I loved some of the home builds and bitzas. All of the instruments I tried were excellent, which just re-enforced to me how each guitar is an individual and that you have to look further than the name tag. There were many that I would love to have played more.

It would be nice to finish up with a list of who brought which instruments.

Jo Burt enjoyed chatting to everyone, and I think was surprised at discovering this little bass subculture!

Thanks to all who attended and to John (oldslapper) for being "there" for me....

Just picking up on the earlier post bash comments.. agreed, you can never have too many Jazz Basses!

Oh, and big thanks to Jo Burt who came along, gave an entertaining talk and stayed and chatted with most of those present ( if not all) about their Basses. Next year I'll see about getting Jeff Berlin...!

There will be more photos posted in the fullness of time I believe?

Great stuff today guys! Very informative session from Jo, and it was great to meet everyone and try out some interesting gear - I was most impressed by the Sandbergs! :) I do think that I should have brought my Precision along to try and even the numbers though!

Thanks for organising it guys, hopefully we'll have another meet in the not-to-distant future!

What an interesting and informative day, definitely worth the trip from Cornwall. So glad I didn't take my bass, would've been like taking a Ford Escort to a supercar show... but nice to meet everyone anyways! More ladies at the next one, please!!

It was good to see you there Rex, shame we never saw the Les Paul!

You know I was just sat here wondering how he did that
[/quote]

Well he hit a harmonic then slid his finger up or down to the next one and the pitch went with it. Quit simple really. I mean how difficult can it be!! Until you actually try it then what you expect to happen happens. As soon as you move your finger you kill the harmonic.

It be magic
