I think the Sparkle finish on a Asat is the only one to have IMO, This looks like Dub Junky's Old one, A lot overpriced IMO.

I'm sure either this bass or an identical colour/condition bass sold on ebay a few months ago for about 50% of this asking price (I was sorely tempted to bid but iirc it was collection only).

G & L 's have never really kept there value compared to other manufacturers (I've owned 5 and would never buy a new one) but there no doubting the quality of them.

This is my old ASAT.

Just checked the serials against the pictures I had when I sold it a couple of years ago on here. There was something I thought I recognised in the grain pattern and also it still had the Jim Dunlop straplocks.

It was a stunning instrument and was definitely one of my "you're a total dumb-ass for letting that one go" basses.

Such a looker but delicious to play. Great skinny fretboard and a really low action. Tonally, such a fantastically open and punchy sound. Definitely "precision on steroids" and not at all acoustic sounding, despite the hollow chamber and f-hole. I used to think the semi hollow body helped open up the top end of the instrument and add a bit of transparency.

Lovely bass. If you're thinking about it, you won't be disappointed.

It looks to me like he's parted the strings to show what the fret wear is like.

Ah, that would explain it as the photos were so numerous my browser seemed to go from one to the other so quickly!

This was my old bass and was traded with tonyf for his Spector. At the time I had this and a gold solid body Asat bass too and tony chose this one out of the two. I loved this bass and loved gigging it. Lush bass but as stated is going for twice what it went for in a few BC deals.
