What do you keep your leads and equipment in?

Wondered what people use to keep leads etc in? I have a nice foamed out case with rack tuner, radio kit and enough room for my leads. Trouble is, it is so well packed there isnt room for owt else so......now I have a bag too with a couple of pedals and extra bits and pieces as well.
Are there any commercially available examples you know of? has anyone ever branded such a thing? what do you use?...........

I keep all my leads, tuner, tools, batteries, etc in a heavy duty case sold by Terallec in Southend. Lots of different sizes, and tough as anything.

Me too - except the current one belonged to a sales rep. who threw it in a skip so it didn't cost me anything.

Never be afraid to root in skips - our band has loads of quality bags/cases etc , all of which I found in skips outside shops within a hundred yards of where I work.

I keep everything other than my bass and cab in my MarkBass amp bag.
And that includes my wireless system.

A sports bag. Use the main bit for leads, pedals, gaffer, strings etc and the end pocket for loose items. Takes up less space than a box and means I can wedge it in the last bit of space left in the car!

An old, padded lap top bag (slightly bigger than a modern one!)
It holds duplicates of everything, so I don't have to pack/unpack for gigs and rehearsals. Just take it and go.

That said, I like to travel light, and don't use fx so;

2x mains leads
strap
spare internal fuses for Trace head
tools (Screwdrivers, Allen keys, Cable cutters, insulating tape etc.)
extension lead
Instrument lead (25')
spare patch leads
various audio leads/ adapters
ear plugs

The bag's soft, alnd will shove into spare boot space quite readily.
A laptop can fit in it, too (if I empty it!)

a plastic tool box from aldi - the top trays in the lid hold stuff like string winder, capo, small tools, picks, etc. The lift out tray holds the bigger stuff - tuner, pliers, screwdrivers, torch, stuff like that and the box bit holds leads, straps, etc/

Used one of these for 15 years or so but the edges started to go and they were quite sharp so potential damage to me and the car interior.

+1 for my current carry case. Leads all coiled so that they fit around the edge of the case and the centre forms a space for tuner, earplugs, multitool and fuses etc. Like the man says it can be squeezed into a space in the car between cab and flightcase as a wedge to stop things clashing together as the car corners!

I feel posetively lardy compared to some of you guys and now use a DJ CD Case (big one) and a sports bag. The CD case has the main gear and the bag the spares. I notice some of you dont appear to use an RCD - dont plug in without one boys and girls. I have an extension reel that often needs to be used - maybe I should have got one of OBBM's 5M kettle leads.

I do BV's as well so I need a Mic, stand, cable and monitor that adds to the clobber.

It gets a bit complicated...

If I'm rehearsing with the barn dance band, I just use a bass or EUB and the GK 200MB, so I bung a jack-to-jack and a kettle lead into a carrier bag (along with tunes lists if I remember) - tuner, strap etc are in the bass case.

For gigging, I got a nest of Al cases from Maplin, and a single Al case, from B&Q. The future Mrs Zero has one of the Al cases for her wireless headset, we have a little one for the barn dance band to hold CD player, a few CDs, business cards, etc in. Next one up is for my wireless kit, which I use with the other band. The biggest one is for me and holds DI box, kettle lead, several J-J leads and a couple of XLR leads, A-B box, 9V PSU and daisy chain, spare PP3s, and a cable tester which may one day actually get used. It randomly holds a tuner or not, which is why there's one in with the bass too.

I also have a sports bag which holds my Digitech BP-200 and a Rolls MIDI controller footboard, if I bother taking them out.
