Lord Sausage
Can't believe there has been none by this guy, Richie Blackmore. two of his best. 1)Sweet Child in Time, Solo 3.20 http://youtu.be/-o4-9toOBEI 2) Highway Star, Solo 3.40 http://youtu.be/jh0iihjANPc

Rick's Fine '52
No Jimmy Page yet?? This is one of the few guitar solo's that i feel carry's on the story of the song, without the need for lyrics, his feel when he's on form is second to none. Ton's of emotion. Here at 3:38. Live version from the song remains the same at Madison Square Garden is also good, but i prefer the studio version. jonsebass
Just this. You could say that for a bass player, Im slightly obsessed with Robbo... Check the solo out from 2:45 - and look at the way he struts forward - sheer arrogance, but it works for me! But then again, apart from the drums, Live & Dangerous is a studio recording.
Ian Savage
Absolutely love these guys too, so proud to say that i was part of the crowd doing BV's on that album (In studio only, not the video). Solo is at 3:30, some solid bass playing from Rory as well. Liam
I'm quite impressed with that, partly for the simple-but-cool solo (like the harmonisation on part of it; can he do it live? ) and partly for the cheap-but-cool video, which is the kinda thing I'm looking at doing with my band...I feel a thread coming on... Back on topic, this has got to be mine, listen from around 2' 40" onwards: (The Hold Steady, 'Lord I'm Discouraged', as it doesn't say so in the video tag) Edited July 16, 2012 by Ian Savage

Theirs a vid on their channel of their McFly support slot where they play that as the last song, and as for cheap videos, their channel is full of them (Chocolate being my personal favourite) and there's one on my bands channel in my sig that may have some inspirational qualities for you. All audio was done at Alien Sound Studios in Ormskirk, which is a brill little studio and stupidly cheap too. Liam
Bloc Riff Nut
The beauty of this type of thread is you're introduced to new music. Thanks Flyfisher for Duane Alman - Goin' Down Slow(solo). It's been a while since I heard Vai and Ladies Nite in Buffalo :-) I personally love Kenny Wayne Shepherd's solo in Black on Blue - @ 2:55 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNayySwr7SQ Phil. MrFingers
It's twangy, it's a bit off-key, it rambles and it pierces... Bloc Riff Nut
Anouk with a reggae version of one of her hits 'Nobody's Wife', Solo begins at 3:43, not technically difficult but so mellow I just love it. Love the bass in this too, shame they didn't have the musical nouse to realise the bass is the driving force of the song(other than vocals) and then to film the silky smooth bass. :-( enjoy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gq1RFUN08qw Phil
GarethFlatlands
I don't really get the whole guitar solo thing but I love this one. Melodic and a really great way of winding the song down without being showy. Starts near the end but you should listen to it all anyway as it fits into the song as a whole.
