leftybassman392
... in which case I got it right. Problem is, us old farts tend to have more to choose from, so the notion of a 'favourite' becomes a bit harder to pin down 'cos there's so many to choose from. Oh no wait... I said that bit already. Lord Sausage
I always loved the way the guitar in this track helped give it a sinister feel and moved it away from just another dance track. Great little solo by Eddie too, not the greatest but it all fits so nicely. I heard this track in the car a few days ago and thought it does sound good
I think it is one of the greatest! It's f***in wild that solo. That's when i love ed the most when he's just killer aggresive and going for it!

mcnach
One of my all time favourite guitar solos must be the one on Thin Lizzy's "Dancing in the moonlight". It's not a difficult solo, which added more to it, as I was able to play it quite soon.... but it's just melodic and beautiful. ezbass
Albert Lee on Dave Edmunds' Sweet little Lisa. Come to that, anything by Albert Lee, such as Country Boy.
Oh good call on AL. I remember seeing that documentary about Rockpile that that clip is taken from and doing the whole dropped jaw thing that Edmunds, Lowe, Lynott and Huey Lewis are doing. A truly original voice back then, copied a fair bit since, but never equalled. Another original voice on guitar, and one that I've not heard anyone copy, is Richard Thompson. A guy who really pushes the envelope in note choices, but who just makes it work.
Lasermonkey
Three spring to mind: there's the Posies' cover of Chris Bell's "I Am The Cosmos", Rain Parade's "A Broken Horse' and REM's "Floweres Of Guatemala ". All are simple, but fit the mood of the song perfectly. Generally, I'm not a fan of guitar solos though.
