Graham
Hi all, Although I'm very happy with my Lakland Duck Dunn, I foolishly played a mate's '79 Precision a couple of weeks ago which made me think I prefer wider necks and after A/Bing with my L2000 I've come to the conclusion that this is the case. I love the tone and aesthetics of the DD and can cope with the narrower neck OK, but the thought that there is something out there which will suit me better has got me tentatively putting it up for trade. It's a Skyline model Duck Dunn signature which has been professionally modded to have a matched Lindy Fralin jazz pickup at the bridge, the input jack moved to the side (to facilitate the extra volume control) and a (currently un-used) battery compartment fitted. The control configuration is VVT. I think what I'm after is a Skyline Bob Glaub with a Lindy Fralin - as I think the pickup is a big part of what I love about the tone so much, but I guess it doesn't have to be a Lakland, just a good quality P with the aforementioned pickup in it. The trade would be dependent on us getting together and trying out each other's basses as I've not played a Bob Glaub before - but on paper it's what I'm after; so I'm hoping there's someone out there with a BG who prefers narrower necks. I'm not looking for any other trades or a cash sale as I don't want to be left with no bass waiting for the right deal to come up, cheers, cash adjustment either way is possible for the right deal. This was originally owned by OBBM who had the mods done (by The Gallery in Camden I believe), it then went to Old Horse Murphy before passing to me, so if you want a second opinion on it, ask either of those guys. I've pinched OBBM's photos from the gear porn thread for now, but if anyone wants more photos from any other angle let me know and I'll get them up. Stealth
Hold out and find a Bob G they are just great basses better than a hell of a lot of Fenders if had.
the hand of john curley
Sir-that is without a doubt the best looking bass I've ever seen! Beautiful! Good luck with your trade. .......... Don't suppose you'd fancy a geddy lee?! ☺
warwickhunt
I remember OBBM doing the mods and remember it being the kind of thing that I'd do; funnily enough likewise a BG... modded with a J pup. However, the neck thing doesn't bother me one way or the other. Unfortunately I don't have a P bass derivation to trade (a Jazz but the neck will likely be as slim as the DD). karlfer
Might be worth trying a great guy, member called Peety, lives in Wigan. He was looking to move one of his 2 Glaubs on, then changed his mind. You can but ask, he's a great guy and wont bite. Of course, if he only wants to sell, 1st dibs on offering yours . Whaddya mean ulterior motive

Gigged it again at the weekend and if a Bob G doesn't turn up or if I try one and don't like it I'll be happy to keep this, still looking to trade at the moment though. Simon.
Damn, damn, damn! I lusted after this bass for many a month, but missed out when OBBM & Old Horse Murphy sold it. Sadly I don't have what you are looking for in a trade, Graham, but if you ever think about selling it, please think of me! I think OMMB had (still has?) a white pearloid scratchplate for this, which would look incredibly sweet!
