SpaceChick Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Im considering upgrading my current cheapy beginner bass. Being a girl with small hands, I have heard good stories about the Ibanez SR300 as it has a narrow neck. I can't afford to pay out vast sums for a new bass. Bearing in mind I'm a non gigging beginner, what are your views on this bass? Thanks in advance Quote
Marvin Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 http://basschat.co.uk/topic/172333-ibanez-sr300-a-budget-bass-fooled-me/page__fromsearch__1 This might help. There are quite a few on here that have got a 300 and they've got a good rep. Neck is stupidly skinny. Some don't like the Ibanez pups, but tbh they sound good to me. Did I mention I've got one Quote
TimR Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 I've been playing the SR400 for 10years. Gigging a couple of times a month. No problems. Quote
jezzaboy Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Really nice basses. I had a red/maple neck one a while back and they are exc value for money. Well finished and very comfortable to play. Quote
jezzaboy Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 And Tom1946 has a tasty one for sale right now........ http://basschat.co.uk/topic/178705-ibanez-sr300m-maple-board-new/ Quote
RockfordStone Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 i used to have one of these along with other ibanez basses always found the necks easy to play even 5 string models. i only got rid of mine as they didnt fit my current playing style, but they are well worth considering as a reasonably priced upgrade Quote
