bobodhi
Hi, anyone out there familiar with Riverside headless bass guitars. I'm looking for a cheap (but playable) headless bass and have found one of these on a budget, what's the verdict? If they're naff, please say so, but if they play ok that's fine, it won't be my main guitar...oh no.. but just for keeping in the car, taking on holiday etc. Cheers all. Sean
I've played a Riverside. It was one of the most gawdawful shocking things I've ever touched. Nasty. Get yourself a Hohner.

Ou7shined
They come up on the bay all the time for just a few quid (if they sell at all). Unfortunately they are all you'll see sub Hohner price point. I'd avoid and save up for something nicer.
Cosmo Valdemar
I had one for a while on loan. Fun to play around the house unplugged but sounded dreadful through an amp, weedy and thin. I was surprised to see Dave Pegg playing one with Jethro Tull on a DVD the other day, some time around the early 90s I think it was.
redstriper
How about a Pasadena? Never tried one, but might be worth a punt at this price: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Neuheit-schwarzer-Pasadena-Headless-Bass-WB1-/200719652176?_trksid=m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D3%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D21931370534864062&_qi=RTM1084480

grunge666
Hohner B2A's are great - I wish I still had mine - I'd spearhead a comeback of 80's kitsch!

He'd defretted too, sounded ok, nothing special.

redstriper
Have you considered a Spirit? bobodhi
A spirit.. no, will look into that. Cheers
Bassman Sam
I opened a similar thread a few months ago and the overall opinion was, " get a Hohner." The Spirit was classed as a toy bass by some. I used to have a Washburn Status and that was ace, IMHO. They come up on here and Ebay from time to time but are fetching around £450 - £500 for a reasonable one.
