mic mac moe Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 Just wondering, how "do-able" is replacing the fretboard on a P bass? I really want a fretless P much like the Tony Franklin but on a budget. Iwas thinking of a MIM P and a slab of ebony.Anyone done this? Quote
Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 (edited) It'll be much more cost effective to get a fretless P neck with ebony board from Brandoni. When I bought one it was about £100 - so you should cover your costs by flogging the fretted neck. I built my fretless with a brandoni body as well as the neck and hardware from various places. neepheid Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 Well, this gives you an idea of the work involved in getting a fingerboard off a neck: http://www.projectguitar.com/tut/removal.htm Quote

I'm prepared to haggle, and I could easily sell the tuners seperately Chris Quote
