I haven't had this very long but already I realise that its just not the bass for me.

This is a 2010 model so it has the full width fretboard inlays, vintage tone selector and walnut headstock wings.

I've had a good look and cannot find a single mark on it which is unsurprising considering its only done 2 gigs since new. I always find the A & D strings on Ricks too floppy so I've fitted a set of Legacy 45 -105 gauge strings which are apparently Roto nickels in a different box. I will be including the original ones as well.

It comes in its case with keys, allen keys for the bridge and original Rick polish cloth which is unused.

[s]I'm looking for £1350 which includes fully insured postage to mainland UK[/s].

I'm now going to offer this for £1200 plus postage, no offers and no trades. Bank transfer or cash on collection preferred as I don't want any Paypal charges at this price. This is still available for trade but the trade value is £1300

You're not going to find a Rickenbacker in better condition than this one - its in better condition than some 'new' shop basses I've seen.

Now for the porn:

oh yes :D

If you want grinding Chris Squire tones then with the right EQ/overdrive it can do it but favour the neck pickup and it becomes very mellow but still retains and amazing tone that I've never found on any other bass. Do not think that these are pure clank machines that can't do anything else. There's a huge selection of tones available here. I was using this with a Hartke LH500 and its actually capable of overdriving the preamp valve.

I'm also in no rush to sell so won't accept any lowball offers. If its still here by the end of August then it'll be coming with me to Liverpool when my band play the Cavern club amongst other venues as part of International Beatles week.

Always fancied a Rick but never took the plunge... :-/

Go on, dive in :D

One of the really good things about Ricks is that they hold their value remarkably well. The prices always seem to be going up as well. I bought a midnight blue one about 5 years ago and it was £1169 from GuitarGuitar, their now about £1849

Haha, indeed! Believe me - if I had a whole bucket loada cash that I could plough into a Ricky (rather than a wedding), I would absolutely pick up one of these beasts...

Best of luck with the sale mate!

Had a Rick briefly....hated it when I first got it, put it back up for trade on here. It went back to its owner within 2 weeks. Thing is I quite liked it when it went back and I've missed it ever since. Now, do I need a Jazz.........hmmmmm

I'll be using this for gig number 2 on Friday night with the Getback band at 20 Rocks in Falkirk if anyone would like to see or hear it in action. Its £7 on the door. There will be a support act first then we're on about 9:30pm.

I've bought one of those black things that go around the pickup when you take the cover off so you don't take the skin off your fingers. If the bass is still here by then I'll be fitting it for the gig.

They're anything from £20-40 for these but it will be included with the bass when it sells

Yeah, much better than having the metal surround give same effect as a cheese grater on those well earned and hard worked for calluses. :D

Want Rickenbacker - check
Have good condition MIA Jazz to trade - check
Have cash to make up difference - fail

Have a free bump anyway :)

After something similar?
nah, after exactly that!

so near = just a quick trip in the car

so far = empty bass fund :(

Yeah I know the feeling, it took me long enough to be able to afford it.

I fitted my new pickup surround last night ready for tonight's gig at 20 Rocks in Falkirk. Took about 10 minutes. I'll see how I get on with it tonight
