thunderider Posted June 19, 2012 Share Posted June 19, 2012 i got a 4 pole plug i got my wires in +1&-1 but i hade to shorten the cable,but the thread started to thread so just bout nipped it up but im just wondering if can swap them to +- 2 posts i dont wanna try to swap incase it dont work and i cant nip up +1 again......its the only one i got atm and i got a gig tomorrow night!! icastle Posted June 19, 2012 Share Posted June 19, 2012 Nope. If the plug was originally wired +1 and -1 then that's what it needs to be. The +2 and -2 posts are for bi-amped operation and are rarely used. Your best bet would be to either try and find time to grab a replacement lead (or plug) or temporarily use a jack <-> jack lead (if your amp\cab has that option). LawrenceH Posted June 20, 2012 Share Posted June 20, 2012 If the speakon is going to be junked anyway you could always solder the wire into the speakon rather than rely on the screw? heat from the screw access point, flood with solder, drop the wire in.
