Well i'm sure there are cheaper things. But that's straying far, far away from the beautiful land of the free that is the point. Here's my rig:

After over 2 years, i'm still amazed at how loud and low this bass is, the tone remains clear however. As for the amp, very loud and low. The EQ could be a bit better but really it's a pretty bitchin' setup for under £470!

A very respectable setup you've got there. Just goes to show that you don't have to pay through the nose to get a pro-quality rig, just keep your eyes on the freeads :)

I tried one the Peavey BXP five strings out in a little shop in Putney a couple of weeks ago and really, really liked it. Amazing price. Problem was the practice amp I had to play it through. How is the B string sound?

well on the active version, it sounds very remenicent of an earthquake machine :) i was surprised at the clear sound i got out of it even through a crappy little amp at the shop when i tried it actually myself. Well thanks 4 the comments guys.
