jackduran Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 (edited) Classic, of course, in the loosest sense of the word- but a nice little nod to Mr Ricky Gervais and his long-forgotten 'masterpiece' Bitter Heart, which he recorded in 1983 as part of new romantic duo Seona Dancing. Have a look/listen and let me know what you think- we've had a bit of a play around with the arrangement and we think it sounds much better. The idea behind the video was to take the bare bones of the original video and make something that references it subtly, but takes it in a different direction. The guys who did the video, Rotted Grape Productions, also did the Dresden video for Fibua- Basschat's very own Wooks79 of course. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmGrT28D0NE The single is out on August 6th (but available to pre-order) via: http://www.hmvdigital.com/artist/super-8-cynics/bitter-heart http://www.7digital.com/artist/super-8-cynics/release/bitter-heart http://bit.ly/LMymiA Cheers! BigRedX Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 Fantastic! Is there going to be a proper physical release CD or vinyl? I don't really do downloads. Quote
Wooks79 Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 Love it Jack, as you well know! I had never heard the original, and your version sent me googling, but your version does indeed take a dump on it from a great height. Quote
jackduran Posted June 25, 2012 Author Posted June 25, 2012 Thanks lads. BigRed, it's download only at this stage, but we do have physical promotional cd's for radio stations/DJs etc so I could post you on of those if you like? I agree Si, the original is naff personified. I wasn't keen on the idea at first but the original chorus had a really good melody that we all liked so we thought it'd be worth a shot! Quote
