Chairleg Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271003344261?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 It is clearly listed as a Fender. and can anyone tell me what MPN stands for in the item description box? If it stands for 'Manufacturers Part Number', then this precision has a serial number with a 'T; prefix which I understand is a 'Tribute' model. I am assuming that if it isn't the real thing then they probably don't know as they have invited prospective bidders to go and have a look at it. Quote
Musky Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 That's not a Tribute series, it's probably a recent MIJ. Quote
Musky Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012
94 MIJ
I think you're right. T0xxxxx serials are 2007-2010, but the nineties T serials were followed by 6 numbers which could start with any number including a zero. Quote
ash Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 Hi I managed to get this as the seller was fairly local to me, football was on, not much info on the listing so I took a gamble and got a bargain I think! It's a '94 'made in Japan' virtually mint and super light, plays really well, I gigged it last night and got real compliments on the sound of it. This will be my primary gigging bass for the moment - I've been getting a bit worried about taking my '82 JV out to rowdy pub gigs lately! Quote
Chairleg Posted July 1, 2012 Author Posted July 1, 2012 Nice one Ash. Always a pleasure to see someone getting a positive result from the 'Bay' Quote

I was gonna stick £300 on it, I'm glad for you that I didn't. Enjoy mate. Quote
ash Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Thanks chaps, yes one of those rare ebay bargains - it's got a slightly deeper neck compared to my JVs but much lighter in weight - its a classy bass and I would've happily paid more, these 90s MIJs are well worth scouting for. Quote
