Marshall Guv'nor Mk 1

Five or so hours to go and still a bargain:

http://www.ebay.co.u...9#ht_500wt_1092

Time will tell if it remains so! I'd snap this up, but as usual, I'm skint until next Friday.
As used by Gary Moore, et al apparently. Sounds the business with bass too, I've been told. :)

Bloody things are like busses, there's one for sale on here too.
I have one in better nick than both... and in it's original box. To be honest I think there are better distortions to be found for bass. I use mine in conjunction with my Unibass (for the octave/guitar out channel) as the built in distortion is pants. It really does help make it sound more guitary.

I was interested mainly re a post about Tim Commerford's bass sound... hardly likely to nail that with one pedal though imho, given the complexity of the rig he was using with Audioslave... any comments about this?

That's basically the reason I bought mine. :D
Don't get me wrong they do get you a good Timmy C gritty sound (with a Stingray at least) and retain the warmth from your bass. But as I say these don't tend to offer you much more than "the Marshall" sound... which ain't a bad thing if that's all you need. They really do a fantastic job of dirtying up a guitar for that classic 70's sound though so if you intended to use it for both then yeah.

Went for £52 - a bargain! Talking about buses all coming at once, there's another one up now:

It's a seven day auction, so I'm going to have a crack at this one. :)

Only one amp is the problem, multiple very coloured amps, wonder if you cna get it with multiple VT pedals though. Should gather some and try it into one of my PA heads.

Would be very interested to know the results of that experiment. :)

Note first one linked is made in Korea, and the later one is made in England. Not that it makes any actual odds, compared loads and there is as much variation in ones made in the same place as between the different places.

That is a rather optimistic price, isn't it!

Is there much difference in the eBay pricing, from what you'be noticed?
I happen to have a UK-built one, so am vaguely interested, kind of in the same way that I am about house prices, even though I don't have any plans to sell mine!
