molan Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 Whilst I'm a lover of flashy tops on nice basses I always think that a Fender should have a 'classic' colour finish & never sure about their attempts to play the custom builders at their own game. The custom shop have just published pics of this Dennis Galuszka Masterbuilt model - just wondered what people thought of it? Quote
molan Posted June 23, 2012 Author Posted June 23, 2012 (edited) That's odd - I can see the pic on my machine but not on iPhone! Here's a libk to the page http://twitpic.com/9zegop/full Edited June 23, 2012 by molan Quote
Roland Rock Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 (edited) Cheers, maybe it's because I'm on an iPad. Anyway - crikey, I wish I hadn't asked! :-) Not my cup of tea at all. I dislike quilted maple anyway, and agree that Fender should leave the fancy stuff to the 'boutique' builders? And the gold hardware.... No no no! All IMO of course Edited June 23, 2012 by Roland Rock Quote

Anyway, I've uploaded it here now as well - have to click to see full size though Edited June 23, 2012 by molan Quote
Tankdave Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 I do love quilted maple, but thier are better colours for it and gold h/w is a no for me. Quote
bubinga5 Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 (edited) sex.. although its pretty bling its still fairly understated in color... you can keep those noiseless pups also.. a bit ott Edited June 23, 2012 by bubinga5 Quote
mooz Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 The tort-pickguard on that top is a bit too much of … couloured vortex. Quote
BigRedX Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 That anaemic neck doesn't really go with the rest of the bass does it? Quote
TRBboy Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Bleeeurgh! I've just been sick in my mouth. It looks like when a cheap, no-name, far-east manufacturer tries to make what they feel is an "upmarket" looking bass (although that does look like a quality piece of quilted maple). Quote
tauzero Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 The quilted maple is nice, the scratchplate is rubbish, the gold hardware really doesn't go well with it, the knobs look cheap and nasty. Quote
Gust0o Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012
sex..
Maybe. But this is the equivalent of sheep shagging. It's still sex, but it's a wrong 'un. Quote
BassPimp66 Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 Does it come with a Pimp hat? What about encrusting "P.I.M.P" in crystal on the pickguard? Quote
TRBboy Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 I think it would have looked much nicer with chrome hardware and a white pearloid pickguard. Quote

JTUK Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 Doesn't work at all for me... looks to be trying too hard and it fails woefully. Quilted is ok...but you need to let the figure come out not cover it up. You would most likely miss all that feature more than a few mtrs away so there is no point. People like Petersen and Sadowsky do this stuff so much better aesthically, IMO. Null point.....totally misses the mark Quote
