Doc B
I got myself one of those lovely Squier VM 70's Jazzes with maple board, blonde maple body and black plate yesterday to keep my Streamer Std company. Now the VM Jazz is great but not quite as good as my German made Streamer so I would like to make a few upgrayyeds starting with a BadAss of some description and maybe some better pups (passive though). I'll also be getting a full pro set up done on it once I get all the new bits. Any other suggestions?
johnnylager
I did these - Wizard 84's, JSP series/parallel switching, D-tuner, and I love 'em. It already had a Bad Ass II on it. Good luck, John. Edited April 23, 2008 by johnnylager
gary mac
I got one of these a month or so back and I am hugely impressed. Just fitted a Badass 2, purchased on this forum. An easy job and a definite improvement. Planning to order a pair of the wizard 84's soon. But not sure whether to brave the soldering iron myself or get someone to do it for me. Apart from strap locks, that will be my lot I think. cheers, Gary.

gafbass02
Me too, a random gold badass and white pickguard from my 75ri jazz (dosnt actually fit that well but i like the whit elook so ill get one made when funds allow) strap locks and thats it for now. Ultimately ill whack a detuner on and seeing as you lot keep banging on about wizards i may try em, but the pups on there are pretty good anyway, quite middy and barky, i luuurve my flamey necked VMJ! Its def rattlier than my fenders, but darn for the money its an Uber steal! Jobiebass
there are people out there wanting and needing a BA bridge. Like me!!! alreadys half arranged it with a CB'er to have his when its been removed, but im sure if you look around on the wanted page you'll find someone to sell it to. I'm considering the wizards 64s as I don't need that much output.
RayFW
I added Wizard 64s, a Badass II, changed the pots for CTS 250Ks with a push/pull series/parallel pot. After a pro setup it is an absolute monster. I've seen people look at the Squier badge and sneer until they hear it played. Then they want to know what I've done to it. 'Nuff said. Buzz
You could always use one of the hipshot or Gotoh drop in replacements as alternatives to the BadAssII. I can't decide on my VMJ at the moment, currently I'm not enjoying playing it, but I think that's down to the Roto flats I've got on it, I'm not a big fan of the fact it's like trying to push down a suspension cable using my fretting hand, it's causing pain. Once my Status hotwires make it to me, I'll see, if not, I'll be selling both my basses this summer, leaving me bassless with a case of serious GAS. I might splash out on a pro-setup though (fret leveling and such) to get the most out of first. Edited April 24, 2008 by Buzz
GreeneKing
You could always use one of the hipshot or Gotoh drop in replacements as alternatives to the BadAssII.
The Gotoh 201 is a drop in replacement but I don't think that Hipshot do a 5 hole replacement bridge (I searched recently while ordering some Hipshot gear for my Warmoth, ended up with a Gotoh). +1 on Wizards. Rich
Yup, there are quite a few good replacement bridges around... have a search on ebay. Let's face it, anything's better than Leo's bent bit of tin And +100000000 for the D-tuner. I've got them on all my fours.

I had them on mine and hated them... I've got LaBella black nylon tapewounds on now... far easier to play... I like the black strings, so I plan to replace the bridge and tuners with black upgrades... and I'm on the hunt for a black chrome control plate... I've currently got a control plate and pots out of a Fender Geddy Lee in there... quite fancy the Wizard 84's as I'm heavily into playing Blues... Doc B
I've got my Bad Ass 2 (cheers Doc Dave) and just ordered my Wizard 64s. Does anyone know which D-Tuners match a Squier and a Warwick ?
Jono Bolton
On Bass Parts Resource they have all the different types of Hipshot D Tuners, and they tell you what model of bass each one fits, you should be able to find out on there.
