chrkelly Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Stick with them! They're amazing strings. I use a c ext set in heavy gauge. Beautiful sound & easy to play. They sounded really unbalanced at first but after a month of abuse they've evened out great.
Damo200 Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 I second Chris. The Kaplans are louder and more focussed than Belcantos.

Ian Davies Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Are the kaplan strings light, medium or heavy gauge? Thanks.
marvin spangles Posted November 7, 2012 Author Posted November 7, 2012 Hi Ian The Kaplan's are medium. For all intents and purposes practically unused.
Ian Davies Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Thanks for your reply, how do they compare to Belcantos in terms of string tension and thickness?
marvin spangles Posted November 7, 2012 Author Posted November 7, 2012 They are slightly thinner and higher in tension. AFAIK . Not sure what you want them for Ian. I would recommend them for classical as they are a dream to bow but not jazz at least not on my bass. There's a review thread just started over on TB you might get more information there.
marvin spangles Posted November 14, 2012 Author Posted November 14, 2012 Kaplans traded. Pirastro Jazzers still available. Great for pizz long sustain and plenty of growl/mwa
marvin spangles Posted November 21, 2012 Author Posted November 21, 2012 Or will swap for used but good nick Dominants.
marvin spangles Posted February 25, 2013 Author Posted February 25, 2013 Jazzers still available reduced to £ 55 or swap for evah weichs or dominants
