has a problem overheating but sounds fixable

Depends how carved up it got fitting the fan. And if the problem is really overheating, or merely a symptom. Probably fixable anyway.

They are great amps when they are working

Everything is fixable , it depends on what it is worth to you and how much time and money you can throw at it

I've got one of these, its a 300H model. Apparently quite popular with Britpop bands back in the day.
Loud amp with a basic straightforward EQ a la Fender Bassman - a pair of decent preamp valves does this amp justice.
