Not so sure about this one imhe i've never been questioned on my past credits although i guess if it got to a really serious level maybe there would be a few questions asked but i think generally people don't really care enough to check Quote
Norris Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 As I said to Chris Squire when I was teaching him to tune his bass, "I'm not one to name-drop" Quote
dincz Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012
I've often noticed how musicians over-exaggerate things to make them sound more impressive than they really are. norvegicusbass Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 I tell everyone I contribute to a bass guitar forum without telling them I am a sh*t bassist who asks sh*t questions Quote
Gust0o Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 I saw Steel Panther at Download - where the drummer was introduced as the best drummer in the band. I like that one Quote
discreet Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Ringo Starr wasn't the best drummer in the Beatles. Quote
Gust0o Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 He was, however, the best drummer on Thomas the Tank Engine. Quote

Mornats Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 I was drunk once (more than once, but once was enough for this) and found myself outside the dressing room where Let Loose were. I proceeded to tell them that "I loved that song you did" (Crazy For You) for which they ever so politely thanked me for and let me go on my way. Nice guys. Can I name drop them next time I'm on stage? Quote

chris_b Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 In the 60's John Entwistle lived in my road in Ealing. I'm told he dined out on that story for years. Quote
Graham Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 I played the Download Festival a couple of years ago, does that mean I've played with Faith No More, Slipknot and Def Leppard? Quote
spinynorman Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 (edited) We were bottom of the bill in an outdoor charity gig headlined by Roy Wood. We were looking forward to playing on a big stage, but it turned out this was one of a catalogue of things the promoter thought Mr Wood wouldn't like. So we were relegated to a gazebo at one side. To add insult to injury, they showed an England world cup match on a screen in the beer tent while we were playing. We have nevertheless played on the same bill as Roy Wood. Wow. LiamPodmore Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 Aziz from The Stone Roses stared at me once, whilst he was playing with Our Fold. We're also the (self appointed) official McFly Support Act Support Act, having supported 2 bands who have supported McFly at one point or another. Does that count for anything? Liam Quote

discreet Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 (edited) At school I was in the same class as Jaz Coleman for five years, at the end of which he asked me to move to London with him 'and form a band'. Fortunately I declined, thus allowing him to achieve some success. Edited July 2, 2012 by discreet Quote
