basskit_case
I was quoted a price of £25 yesterday for Saturday delivery by Ukmail. This seemed excessive at business rates, does anybody know the price a business would pay for this service? Thanks
steve-bbb
i use ukmail regularly - if you can stick to monday to friday the rates are lower - sats is usually a premium rate with all courier companys rate also depends on volumetric weight - what is it? basskit_case
Delivery quoted for mibass 220 and I could get it sent for £15 by the same courier. Bear in mind the shop told me £25 was cost
steve-bbb
shop are just adding their cut onto the courier fee which is standard retail practice i guess - ive used ukmail several times to do 'third party collection' - is especially useful for bulky purchases and consignements are all covered minimum 500 insurance with more if required - the only real risk is trusting whether the sender has wrapped it up well enough - shops are usually ok with this but some auction sellers seem to think a black plastic bin liner and a couple of elastic bands will do the job
basskit_case
I know what you mean, most people use postage to cover ebay fees! I wouldnt expect shops to post at cost, they need to cover time and materials, but got a quote from another store which offered Saturdays for £12. Pity the other store charged more for the item.
