*This bass is now sold outside of BassChat*

I bought it from the US around 2005 but it is as good as new. I paid extra duty to bring it into Ireland, where I was living then. It has never been gigged and has always remained in a hard shell case. I have only noodled with it occasionally and there is no wear on the fretboard that I can notice. The only problem I noticed recently is that the strap locks had rusted. I have replaced them with a pair of brand new Schaller strap-locks (black) that are included in the sale. Also, the original tweed hard shell case is no longer with me as I wasn't a fan of it and instead obtained a SKB Fender case that fits the bass perfectly and is included in the sale.

A whole bunch of original accessories are included - they are completely unused. The manufacturer's details are available at: http://www.fender.co...rtno=0196208800

Hi TorVic, the Jaco looks wonderful, I'm after a good fretless & have been looking at both the Jaco or the Victor Bailey, the latter seems a bit more like hen's teeth.

I would appreciate your answer to a simple question  I know the Tort Jazz plate comes with & I see there is also a thumbrest in the case candy, my question is "is the plate drilled for the thumbrest & if so, which side?" I understand the body is not drilled for any fixings.

I'm at this moment contemplating drilling my AV '62 Jazz to fit a thumbrest above the E, (all my P's have a T/R there already) & I just wanted to check if the Jaco plate has the holes.

Thanks, John

Hi KOgon, I just checked the plate and it does have holes drilled for the thumb rest. It is below the G. I have added 2 photos of it to the Picasa album at: https://picasaweb.google.com/100212465725187526301/FenderJaco?authuser=0&authkey=Gv1sRgCJi206GZjNDUBg&feat=directlink

Cheers, Vic.
