dmz
Looks like all his albums made with Epic are being re-mastered and available in a box set http://www.notreble.com/buzz/2012/06/30/legacy-releases-stanley-clarke-the-complete-1970s-epic-albums-collection/ Not seen on Amazon yet - the chappie on no treble says no new tracks - whilst strictly true - some missing tracks from the vinyl version of "I wanna play for you", namely "Off the planet" - a piccolo bass tour de force (!) is on there - worth the price of entry alone methinks - plus the tracks on that particular album are now in the same order as the vinyl as I remember it - showing my age here ! One thing I'd like to ask - on the later album "Future Shock", the track "Heaven Sent" on the CD is quite a different mix from that of the vinyl version - and vastly inferior to my ears. Anyone know if you can get a CD that mirrors exactly the vinyl version ?? Maybe a Japanese version perhaps ?

dmz
Doh ! - I did of course mean the Time Exposure album and the track "Heaven Sent You" - is the original vinyl version of this track available available on CD somewhere ?
Chris2112
I Wanna Play For You seems to be the only record I would really revisit of that lot. The sound quality on Stan records is good though, so I can't see what a remaster is going to do for the tracks sonically. 'Remaster' is usually a term for boosting the bass and making the whole record louder overall so it loses it's dynamic punch.
