chris_b
I'm currently playing a Lull 3 ts PJ5 with rosewood fb and there is no part of it that is less than fantastic. I wanted a good, modern 5 string Precision that captured the feel, vibe and sound of a vintage Fender. I haven't owned a passive bass since the early 90's so it took some getting used to but the tone, action, balance and feel of this bass is the best I've played for decades. All my bands love it. I still have the Wal and Lakland but they don't get used at all these days.
Haha, i know what your thinking but its just a beautiful bass mahn, take a look at it and tell me you wouldnt own that the problem i had with 5 strings is that i never had much use for it with not being in a band and some basses always had a sloppy B than something tight and defined that i find with string thru's and longer scale necks. Fretless? i've only ever had one, being a squier and i only sold it soon after owning it for urgent funds but it would be something i'd learn and play some day, if not an EUB. I've always been a Pbass player at heart, my first bass being one and a 5 string version would be the ultimate dream for but i don't think Fenders are worth the price no longer in comparison to other big named brands (Dingwall, Mike Lull, etc) but yet again, all down to funds. cocco
I was perusing the Lull section on bass direct yesterday. I quite fancy one of the jazzes with the T-bird pickups and a P profile neck.
JimBobTTD
Looks very nice indeed. Make it 34" and do something to that headstock and I'd be in a state of incurable GAS too!

BigRedX
If you want a Fender-styled bass with a decent B-string, some of the design faults and all the QC issues that Fenders stuffer from sorted out, then a Lull is definitely one to consider. I can't get on with the body shape when wearing it on a strap but that's just me.

Musicman20
I sure like the PJ's Mike makes. Im not keen on Thunderbirds anyway, but his interpretation would be my first call if it was my type of bass. The headstock is a bit of a 'hmm' point, but I'd get over that. The prices are very high though, so I'd have the be certain about one before taking the plunge. BSB
You'd go off it in 17 weeks and sell it. You have been seduced by a picture. What happens when you see a four string fretted one in the same finish? You sell the fretless five to a BCer, take a £500 hit, and skint yerself. Again. You're a knob. Just like I used to be

Small hands mean 34" for me and it can still have a good B. But dude -I have a real headstock snobbery thing going on. Of the Fender-style instruments' headstocks: Fender=standard classic. EBMM=good. Lakland=ok-to-good. Ibanez Blazer=cool twist. Sandberg Californias=just about pulls it off. Overwater J=good. Tanglewater J=just allright. Yamaha BB=meh. G+L=too fussy. Sadowsky=limp. Alleva Coppolo=awful (like a Fender with a sock placed over it). Lull=wanna like em but the headstock=just no. It's all about the curve and the knob on the end, or lack thereof.
